Mindful Kids is a program for Parent/caregiver and Child where together you practice and integrate ways to self regulate through breath and language.    We work with children aged 7-12.  Session Starts on March 24

Kids Become Aware of 
• emotions and how to calm with breath 
• naming emotions
• vocabulary & language for self expression 
• stress triggers and identifying them 
• identifying stress as a suffering 
• recognize & stop anxious thoughts 
• experience clarity and peace of mind 
• compassion toward self and others   
Parents will receive 
• the opportunity to share & network  
• tips on incorporating mindfulness practice day to day 
• Supportive weekly information  
• language for expressing emotion

More Than Just Art
Why Mindfulness Life Strategies for kids together with their primary caregiver?

....The high paced life we find ourselves “managing” affects not only the adult but the child as well. We can remain victims of the pace, remain subject to the onslaught of stimuli or choose to learn and apply a new set of guidelines to navigate our way through this life in a calm and balanced manner.  

Children emulate what they see, hear, touch.  The greatest gift we can give ourselves and our children is the ability to live sensational lives, to communicate without fear of reprisal, to acknowledge all of our senses and to live free of the reactive stress impulses we have become so accustomed to  experience.

Holistic Practices and Life Style Changes such as Mindfulness, Yoga, and Breath Work have been in the forefront for several years.  Adults have been engaging in these activities for some time and now, children are being exposed to these practices in school.

 Holistic Practices are effective as they are PRACTICED….not so much as parcelled off and isolated as one or more activities to engage and participate in.  Yoga and mindfulness in school is worthwhile but if it remains a subject in school, and does not cross into the family environment, its effectiveness may be relative.
